#housing2030 - Effective policies for affordable housing in the UNECE region. At least 100 million low and middle-income people in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) region are housing cost overburdened; they spend more than 40 per cent of their disposable income on housing. Housing affordability is an important element of the right to adequate housing but is often a challenge for groups of the population facing vulnerabilities.
Join the upcoming two-day Renovation Summit on 10th and 11th May, organized by Housing Europe and the International Union of tenants. Discussing national Recovery Plans, policies for the decarbonization of housing, how to put people in the driver seat of fair energy transition, as well as how to access financing to increase circularity in housing.
If I may add another proposal that is not a piece of legislation but decisive for the access to decent housing, this will be our call for the constitution of a European Housing Alliance that could gather Housing Ministers and key stakeholders willing to improve the policies for better housing conditions in the EU.
